HISTORY

Hi All,

This was sent to me by one of our past president’s of the club.  It’s a little history lesson about the club.  I thought it would be fun to share.

The East Sacramento Soccer club was derived from the McKinley Park Jrs. team in East Sacramento. There are several old photographs of a men's soccer match in downtown Sacramento.  The touchline was lined with spectators, and the vehicles and clothing were the 1920's era.

See the following web-site.  You can select various years.  But if you check 1922 you will see that McKinley Park of Sacramento defeated the San Francisco Vampires in the California State Cup.  The Vampires seem to have been a bit of a California powerhouse.  They won the Cup in 1909 and a few more times.  Our McKinley Park Jrs. won the Cup again in 1924.

(As I recall I referenced this history in our original application letter to Norcal Premier!)
East Sac's soccer history goes back a way.

Coach David Chavez
